Hunkute is a vibrant washed Ethiopian coffee from the highlands of Sidama, celebrated for its floral elegance, stone-fruit sweetness and exceptional clarity. Sourced from the quality-focused Hunkute Cooperative in Wonsho, this lot showcases the characteristics that have made Ethiopian coffees some of the most sought-after in the world.

In the cup, expect delicate jasmine aromatics followed by layers of ripe apricot and soft peach sweetness. The profile is bright and expressive, yet beautifully balanced, with a clean, tea-like structure and a refreshing finish that lingers gently on the palate. Its sweetness is natural and refined, allowing the floral and fruit notes to shine without overwhelming the cup.

Grown at 1,950 metres above sea level by around 2,000 smallholder farmers, this coffee benefits from fertile soils, high elevations and traditional farming methods. The combination of mixed heirloom varieties and careful washed processing creates remarkable clarity, highlighting both the character of the region and the quality of the harvest.

Cherries are selectively processed at Hunkute's wet mills, where meticulous fermentation, washing and slow drying on raised beds preserve the coffee's delicate aromatics and vibrant fruit character. The result is a cup that feels clean, elegant and effortlessly drinkable.
